The SURMOUNT clinical trial programme enrolled over 4,500 participants globally. Managing them
Starting at the lowest 2.5mg dose and increasing gradually significantly reduces the severity of side effects. Eating smaller meals and staying hydrated helps. Most people find side effects improve substantially after the first 4 to 8 weeks.

Most patients notice reduced appetite within the first week. Meaningful weight loss typically becomes visible from weeks 4 to 8. The clinical trials ran for 72 weeks, sustainable results take time.
Clinical evidence shows stopping treatment often leads to weight regain as the hormonal drivers of appetite return. Your prescriber will discuss your long-term plan at each review.
Alcohol is not directly contraindicated but adds calories, can worsen nausea, and may affect blood sugar. Moderate consumption is generally acceptable.
If within 4 days of your usual day, take it as soon as possible. If more than 4 days have passed, skip and resume your normal schedule the following week. Never take two doses in one week.
Store in the fridge (2°C to 8°C). Once removed it can be stored below 30°C for up to 21 days. Keep out of direct sunlight and away from children.
No. Ozempic (semaglutide) only activates GLP-1 receptors. Mounjaro activates both GLP-1 and GIP, producing greater weight loss. Wegovy is a higher-dose semaglutide licensed for weight management.
