Weight Loss Injection Prices in the UK: Mounjaro, Wegovy and Weight Loss Tablets by Dose

Short answer: at Solira, as of October 2026, one Mounjaro KwikPen (four weekly doses) costs £119.99 at 2.5mg and £279.99 at 15mg, and four weekly doses of Wegovy cost £64.99 at 0.25mg and £229 at 7.2mg, which comes as a pack of four single-dose pens. A 30-day pack of the Wegovy pill costs £79.99 at 1.5mg and £169.99 at 25mg, and of Foundayo £79.99 at 0.8mg and £139.99 at 17.2mg. How much does a weight loss injection cost in the UK?

A weight loss injection, sometimes called the weight loss jab, is priced by the dose: at Solira, as of October 2026, four weekly doses cost £119.99 to £279.99 for Mounjaro and £64.99 to £229 for Wegovy.

What one price buys depends on the medicine:

Mounjaro: one KwikPen, a multi-dose pen that holds four weekly doses. The pack has no needles, so we send the pen needles you need with every order.

Wegovy injection: one FlexTouch pen, which holds four weekly doses, at 0.25mg to 2.4mg. The 7.2mg dose is a pack of four single-dose pens, one for each week.

Wegovy pill and Foundayo: a pack of 30 tablets, one a day, for 30 days.

Each supply of injections lasts four weeks rather than a calendar month, so a year of weekly injections takes 13 supplies, not 12.

What are weight loss injection and tablet prices for each dose?

Every dose has its own price, and the tables below give Solira's price for one supply at each dose of all four medicines, as of October 2026.

Why does the price go up with the dose?

Each strength is its own pen or pack with its own price, and the higher strengths cost more, so the price of a supply rises as your dose builds up from the starting dose. The UK product information for each medicine (section 4.2 of its Summary of Product Characteristics) sets out the steps:

• Mounjaro: 2.5mg once a week for 4 weeks, then 5mg. After that the dose can go up in 2.5mg steps if needed, at least 4 weeks apart, to a highest dose of 15mg. The licence names 5mg, 10mg and 15mg as maintenance doses.
• Wegovy injection: 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg and 1.7mg, 4 weeks each, then the 2.4mg maintenance dose from week 17. If needed, an adult with obesity (a BMI of 30 or above) can go up to 7.2mg after at least 4 weeks on 2.4mg.
• Wegovy pill: 1.5mg once a day for a month, then 4mg, 9mg and 25mg, with at least a month at each and 25mg as the maintenance dose. The dose can stay at the step before if needed.
• Foundayo: 0.8mg once a day for at least 30 days, then 2.5mg. After at least 30 days the dose can go up to 5.5mg, and from there to 9mg, 14.5mg and 17.2mg, at least 30 days apart, depending on how well it works for you and how well you tolerate it. With some other medicines the highest dose is 9mg.

Your dose does not go up by itself. Each step up is a new order at the new strength, which a GPhC-registered pharmacist reviews before anything is sent, and not everyone needs the highest dose. The Wegovy licence, for example, says to consider delaying a step, or going back to the dose before, until significant stomach side effects improve.

What would the first few months cost?

If every step were agreed at the earliest point the licence allows, the first four Mounjaro pens would come to £744.96 and the first five Wegovy pens to £582.95, plus delivery on each order. These are examples to help you plan, not what everyone pays.

The licence's first Mounjaro step, from 2.5mg to 5mg, comes after 4 weeks, and later steps are taken if needed, so the Mounjaro row shows every step at the earliest point it could be agreed. Some people stay at a dose for longer, and not everyone needs the higher strengths: each extra pen at a dose costs that dose's price. The price for each dose is the same on your first order and every one after. No introductory prices. Do the Wegovy tablets cost more or less than the injection?

It depends on the dose: at Solira, at the starting doses a 30-day pack of 1.5mg Wegovy tablets costs more than one 0.25mg Wegovy pen (£79.99 against £64.99), and at the maintenance doses a pack of 25mg tablets costs less than one 2.4mg pen (£169.99 against £189.99).

A pack covers 30 days and a pen 28, and the doses are not matched strength for strength. The licence lets someone on the 2.4mg injection move to 25mg tablets, starting a week after their last injection, but it says the effect of switching cannot easily be predicted, because the tablets are absorbed less predictably than the injection.

How do weight loss injection prices compare across UK providers?

UK providers set their own prices, which vary with the dose, the delivery charge and what is included. The four tables below set Solira's price at every dose beside those of the other UK providers they list, read on each provider's own website on 5 October 2026.

Each table compares one pen (4 weekly doses) or one 28 to 30-day pack, with each provider's delivery charge added, and lists its providers A to Z: 49 for Mounjaro, 37 for the Wegovy pen, 55 for Wegovy tablets and 43 for Foundayo. What should the price include?

It should include the clinical care as well as the medicine: at Solira, the price of each dose covers the online consultation and a GPhC-registered pharmacist's review of every order, with no consultation fee and no subscription.

What to check before you pay, wherever you buy

1. Ask the price at your dose. Prices usually rise with the dose, so ask what each dose would cost, not just the starting dose.

2. Check what one supply is. One pen of four weekly doses, four single-dose pens, or a 28 or 30-day pack of tablets.

3. Ask what every later order costs. An introductory price can go up from the second order.

4. Ask how you are charged. A subscription takes payments on a schedule until you cancel, so ask how often you pay and how you stop.

5. Check fees and delivery. Ask whether there is a consultation fee, what delivery costs if it is not stated, and whether the price is for collection from a shop.

6. Check the pharmacy is registered. Look it up on the GPhC register before you pay.

How much are weight loss injections on the NHS?

If you qualify for NHS treatment, you pay the NHS prescription charge in England, £9.90 per item as of October 2026, unless you are entitled to free prescriptions, and nothing in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, where NHS prescriptions are free.

Qualifying is narrower than the UK licence, which covers adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related condition. NICE recommends Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for adults with a BMI of at least 35 and at least one weight-related condition, and in England it is being introduced in phases: from around June 2026, NICE's page says, people may be eligible with a BMI of 35 or more and at least 4 of 5 listed conditions (high blood pressure, abnormal blood fats, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes). Wegovy (semaglutide) is recommended within NHS specialist weight management services, for adults with at least one weight-related condition and a BMI of at least 35, or 30 to 34.9 if they meet NICE's criteria for referral to those services.

Is a very low price a warning sign?

It can be: the MHRA's #FakeMeds campaign warns that medicine bought for very little can come at a cost to your health if it is fake, but a price on its own proves nothing either way, so check where the medicine comes from.

The MHRA says GLP-1 medicines should not be bought from unregulated sellers such as beauty salons or social media, or from anyone who supplies them without a prior consultation with a healthcare professional, and that it has had reports of severe side effects from fake GLP-1 medicines. Genuine ones come as pre-filled pens or tablets: powder in a vial that has to be mixed before injecting is not authorised, and counterfeit pens can closely mimic the real ones. The way to be sure of a genuine medicine, it says, is a legitimate pharmacy, including one online, with a prescription from a healthcare professional. Its list of warning signs for a website includes prescription medicines sold with no prescription needed, and payment in cryptocurrency.
