How the pens work
Mounjaro is supplied in pre-filled pens. Each pen is labelled with a specific strength and is designed to deliver that strength as a single weekly dose. Follow the instructions for use supplied with your pen. The patient information leaflet in the box is the definitive source for device-specific steps, priming, injection technique, and disposal.
A note on "click charts" and splitting doses
Online "click charts" circulate claiming you can dial intermediate or extra doses from a pen. Solira does not advise this. The pen is licensed to deliver specific labelled doses; attempting to dial an intermediate amount risks an inaccurate dose, means you cannot know how much medicine you've actually received, and falls outside the licensed use of the device. If cost or titration is behind the question, speak to your pharmacist. There are better answers than an unverified dose.
If you miss a dose
If fewer than 4 days have passed since your usual day, take it as soon as possible. If 4 days or more have passed, skip it and take your next dose on your usual day. Never take two doses in one week. There must be at least 3 days between any two doses. If you are unsure, contact your pharmacist before injecting.
Changing your injection day
You can change the day of your weekly injection, as long as it has been at least 3 days since your last one. Then carry on once a week on the new day.
Why titration exists
Slow escalation is what makes the gastrointestinal effects manageable. The four-week minimum at each step is there so your gut has time to adapt before more drug arrives, cutting the step short is the fastest way to give up on treatment.
