What is Viagra Connect
Viagra Connect contains sildenafil 50mg, the same active ingredient as prescription Viagra. It is the first branded erectile dysfunction treatment licensed for sale in UK pharmacies without a prescription. It normally takes 30 to 60 minutes to work, and you can take it up to 4 hours before sex.

Taking Viagra Connect
- Read the leaflet in your pack carefully before you take it
- One 50mg tablet, about 1 hour before sex. You can take it up to 4 hours before
- Maximum one tablet per day
- Take on an empty stomach or after a light meal for best results
- Do not take with grapefruit juice
- Alcohol may reduce effectiveness
Who it's for
Men aged 18 to 64 with erectile dysfunction who have no significant health conditions and are not taking any interacting medications.
Not suitable if:
- Over 64 years old
- Taking nitrates, an alpha-blocker, or other ED treatments
- Recent stroke or heart attack
- Severe heart failure, very low blood pressure
- Kidney or liver failure

Side effects
Common side effects include headache, flushing, indigestion, a stuffy nose, dizziness, feeling sick and changes to your vision, such as a colour tinge or blurred vision. These are usually mild to moderate and short-lived. Less common side effects are listed in the leaflet in your pack. Please read it before your first dose.
Stop taking Viagra Connect and get medical help straight away if you have:
- Chest pain before, during or after sex, or dizziness, faintness or feeling sick during or just after sex. Sit half upright, try to relax and call 999. Do not use a GTN spray or any other nitrate for the pain, and tell the ambulance crew you have taken Viagra Connect and when.
- An erection lasting more than 4 hours. Go to hospital straight away.
- A sudden decrease or loss of sight or hearing.
- Swelling of the eyelids, face, lips or throat, or sudden wheezing or difficulty breathing.
- Severe peeling or blistering of the skin, or blisters in the mouth, on the genitals or around the eyes.
- A fit (seizure).
Erection problems can be an early sign of heart disease, diabetes or high blood pressure. Please book a check-up with your GP as soon as you can, within 6 months of starting Viagra Connect.
