Wegovy tablets, the oral form of semaglutide licensed for weight loss, became available in the UK following MHRA approval on 11 June 2026. They're available privately, not on the NHS. Here's a pharmacist's breakdown of what they actually cost, and what you get for it.
Solira pricing (30-day supply)
Wegovy tablets are priced per 30-day supply and rise with each dose step as you titrate from the starting dose to the 25mg maintenance dose. Delivery is charged separately, and pharmacist review is included. There's no separate consultation fee.
New customers can use code WELCOME20 at checkout for £20 off their first order. For up-to-date per-dose prices, see the Wegovy tablets treatment page.
Why the price rises with the dose
Wegovy tablets come as 30-tablet packs (one per day for 30 days). Each pack at a higher dose contains more of the active ingredient per tablet, and that reflects the price. This is standard across UK private prescribing for licensed weight-loss medicines.
What's included
- A pharmacist-reviewed prescription, no separate consultation fee.
- Dispensing and packaging by a GPhC-registered UK pharmacy.
- Discreet, tracked delivery.
- Ongoing pharmacist support between orders (dose questions, side effects, safe stopping).
Why aren't they on the NHS?
New medicines in England need a separate assessment by NICE before the NHS routinely funds them. For Wegovy tablets that process hasn't concluded yet. Until it does, access is through private prescription, either via community pharmacies or regulated online pharmacies like Solira.
How the total 4-month titration looks
Most people spend one month at each of the four dose steps (1.5mg → 4mg → 9mg → 25mg) and reach maintenance after roughly four months. Some settle earlier. For example, staying on 9mg if that's giving them enough. Your pharmacist decides step timing with you, based on tolerance and response.
Comparing to injections
Injectable semaglutide (Wegovy pen) and injectable tirzepatide (Mounjaro) are priced by dose in the same way. Which one is "cheapest" depends on the dose you settle on, not the format, trying to compare "starter price" alone can mislead. Ask your pharmacist to walk through the total 12-month cost if you're deciding between formats.
Update, August 2026: a second weight loss tablet, Foundayo (orforglipron), was approved by the MHRA on 10 August 2026. It has no fasting or timing rules at all. It is not on sale yet, so there is no confirmed UK price, but you can read our full Foundayo guide and join the UK waitlist, or see how it compares to Wegovy tablets.
Frequently asked questions

Are Wegovy tablets available on the NHS? Not currently. Wegovy tablets are available in the UK by private prescription only. NHS access would require a separate NICE assessment.
What's included in the price? Every order includes a GPhC-registered pharmacist review, prescribing and dispensing, and discreet UK tracked delivery. There's no separate consultation fee.
Why does the price rise with the dose? Each dose step contains a different quantity of the active ingredient. Higher doses are priced higher because they contain more medicine per tablet. That's standard across licensed private weight-loss medicines in the UK.
Do I have to commit to a subscription? No. Each order covers one 30-day supply. You can pause or stop after any month. Your pharmacist will advise on how to come off the medicine safely.
