How Much Do Wegovy Tablets Cost in the UK? (2026)

Short answer: at Solira, in October 2026, a 30-day pack of Wegovy tablets costs £79.99 for 1.5mg, £94.99 for 4mg, £114.99 for 9mg and £169.99 for 25mg, with delivery at £2.99 per order. Pharmacist review is included with no consultation fee, and the monthly cost rises with each dose step until the 25mg maintenance dose, reached at the earliest in your fourth month. Wegovy tablets are not routinely available on the NHS: NICE's appraisal that takes them in is still in development.

Why does the Wegovy pill price rise with the dose?

Each strength is a different tablet: 1.5mg, 4mg, 9mg and 25mg of semaglutide in each one. You take one tablet a day, at one strength, and each strength has its own price. So the monthly cost goes up at each step, until you reach the dose you stay on.

Are Wegovy tablets available on the NHS?

Not routinely. NICE's current recommendation for semaglutide (TA875, 2023) covers the weekly injection, used within NHS specialist weight management services. In October 2026 NICE set out a wider appraisal of semaglutide for weight management that takes in the tablets (ID6699); it is in development, with no publication date yet. Until then, access is through private prescription, either via community pharmacies or regulated online pharmacy services like Solira.

How long does it take to reach the 25mg dose?

The licence starts on 1.5mg once a day for one month, then steps up to 4mg, 9mg and 25mg, with at least a month at each step. So, starting at 1.5mg, the earliest you reach the 25mg maintenance dose is the start of your fourth month. Someone moving from the 2.4mg Wegovy injection can start 25mg tablets a week after their last injection. If you step up every month, your first four 30-day packs (one at each strength) come to £459.96 in total, plus delivery on each order. The licence also allows staying at the previous dose if needed, so some people take longer or stay at a lower step; your pharmacist decides the timing with you, based on how you tolerate each step. Is the Wegovy pill cheaper than the injection?

It depends on the dose, not the format. At Solira, a 30-day pack of 25mg tablets is £169.99 and a 2.4mg Wegovy pen, which holds four weekly doses, is £189.99. At the starting doses, a 1.5mg tablet pack is £79.99 and a 0.25mg pen is £64.99. Delivery is £2.99 for tablets and £3.99 for pens. Injectable tirzepatide (Mounjaro) is priced by dose in the same way, so comparing the starting price alone can mislead.
