Foundayo was approved by the MHRA on 10 August 2026, and the first question everyone asks is the same: what will it cost, and how do I get it? Here is everything known so far, plus our expected pricing at Solira.
Is Foundayo on the NHS?
No. MHRA approval means the medicine is licensed as safe and effective, but NHS funding is a separate decision made by NICE, and that assessment has not happened yet. Even if NICE recommends it, NHS access to weight loss medicines is tightly rationed, as Mounjaro's slow NHS rollout has shown. For the foreseeable future, Foundayo will be a private treatment through regulated UK pharmacies. The background to the licence is covered in our MHRA approval explainer.
What will Foundayo cost privately?
Eli Lilly has not published UK list pricing. The best guide is the existing oral GLP-1 market: Wegovy tablets currently range from around £99 to £219 a month depending on dose. Because Foundayo is a small molecule, which is cheaper to manufacture at scale than a peptide, there is a reasonable case its pricing lands at the competitive end. Our expected Solira pricing is £95 for the 0.8mg starting pack, rising through £99, £102, £105, and £109 to £112 for the top 17.2mg pack per month. These are expectations, not confirmed prices, and we will publish final pricing the day UK stock arrives. Waitlist members get first access at our launch pricing.
Watch out for fake sellers
Every major GLP-1 launch attracts counterfeit sellers on social media within days. Foundayo is a prescription only medicine. Anyone offering it without a clinical assessment, before official UK stock exists, is selling something that is at best illegal and at worst dangerous. Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register.
How getting Foundayo at Solira will work
Solira is a GPhC registered UK online pharmacy led by superintendent pharmacist Jimah Alsaai. When Foundayo launches, the process will match our existing weight loss service: a short online consultation, a free video call with the pharmacist for new patients, a clinical eligibility check (BMI of 30 or above, or 27 to 30 with a weight related condition), and tracked discreet delivery if approved, with a check in before every reorder.
Should you wait for Foundayo or start now?
If tablet convenience is the only thing that has held you back, joining the waitlist costs nothing. But months of waiting is weight loss progress lost. Wegovy tablets are available today from £99.99, with £40.99 off a first 1.5mg pack using code WEGOVYNEW, and switching or reviewing your plan when Foundayo lands is straightforward with your pharmacist. If you are weighing the two tablets, read our Foundayo vs Wegovy tablets comparison.
When should you speak to your pharmacist or doctor?
Speak to a pharmacist or your GP before starting any weight loss medicine, especially if you take insulin or diabetes tablets, have a history of pancreatitis or thyroid cancer in the family, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take the contraceptive pill, which Foundayo can make less effective.
