    Ingredients

    • 100 g frozen shelled edamame beans
    • A squeeze of lemon juice
    • A small pinch of salt

    Method

    1. Cook the edamame in a pan of boiling water for 3 to 4 minutes, or as the pack says. Frozen beans need cooking before you eat them, even cold.
    2. Drain, tip into a bowl and add the lemon juice and salt.

    Keeping it

To eat them cold later, cool them quickly, then keep them covered in the fridge for up to 2 days.

    About the figures

The protein and calorie figures are worked out from the UK food composition tables (McCance and Widdowson's, 2021) and typical supermarket labels, so they are a guide rather than an exact count. The brands you buy may differ a little.

The figures use strained Greek-style yoghurt with about 10 g of protein in 100 g. Some yoghurts sold as Greek style have about half that, so check the label.

If you have a food allergy, check the labels of what you buy. Recipes marked vegetarian contain no meat or fish; if you need them to be vegetarian, check the cheese says it is suitable.

Cook chicken until there is no pink meat left, eat leftovers within 2 days, and reheat them only once, until steaming hot all the way through.

When to see your pharmacist or doctor

If eating feels difficult in a way that goes beyond appetite, if you find yourself anxious about food, restricting deliberately, or worried about your relationship with eating, please raise it with your pharmacist or GP. It's a common thing to experience and there's proper support available.

If you can't keep fluids down for more than 24 hours, contact your prescriber.
